FREE NAS (Network Attached Storage)

It is quite required to have a centralise storage (Network-Attached Storage) when you have large downloads and using couple of computers at home. There are many good but expensive solutions. This is quite easy way to set up a network attached storage really easily by spending little money (for the computer) by using FreeNAS. It will give good value to your old computer as well.

It is quite simple. It required only 96MB RAM and can install it in a USB or external memory card. It takes only couple of minutes to complete the installation. I just download the image and burn it to a CD and boot it from the CD. You can attached any file format, external storage. 

Came cross small problem mounting a external hard drive. It keep on giving a error but no description or proper log. It was basically due to selecting the incorrect file type. It is always remember to check the file type before mounting the hard drive.

Folder lock with password

Double click the downloaded file, this will create a folder named "Alpha" in current directory. Copy any file in this folder and douple click the downloaded file again and follow the steps as it will ask.
again for unlocking just double click it.
Default password: PASSWORD

Also u can change this password by editing the downloaded file in notepad and replacing "PASSWORD" with any thing u want.

How autorun files are being created ?

Initially you do not need any extra tools for creating an autorun file,just a notepad can do this job for you.
Open a notepad from run command by pressing " WinKey+R " and then by typing "notepad" and click "ok".

An autorun files starts with the name autorun which is placed within the square brackets so that the compiler can understand that it is an autorun file , like this :

Few commands that can be used inside the autorun files are :

    label = Some drive
    The label command is used to set a drive name for your device.
    icon = someicon.ico
    Specific icon can be set for your drive.If you need a .ico files you can get it from here : IconArchieve
    open = filename.exe
    Use the command to open any files that are stored inside your pendrive.

How To Bypass The Windows 8 Password Screen

Folder option's Show hidden files and folder not working

This condition mainly occurs because of some kind of virus action or trojan activity and after that you have two way of viewing hidden files,either fix this issue or use DOS prompt ,we will discuss this way later in the post.


1:- if you just want to enable your windows way then you have to follow this procedure which will make the default way working means folder option's show hidden files and folder will start working.

1.Go to Start –> Run,
2. type RegeditGo to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
3.In the right pane, look for key CheckedValue” and change the value to 1
4.Also look for key that says “DefaultValue nd change its value to 2

But if for any reason this method is not working then you have limited options left.

2:-For viewing files by this DOS method first you must know the path of the files and then apply the following command

...path\>attrib *.* -r -a -s -h


This DOS command will make your all the hidden files in that folder visible.But this command is of no use when you don't know the path of hidden files .Then you have just one option Re-install the window...

1. Mini Operating systems Yeah!! You can carry a portable operating system on your pen drive which will help you log into any PC with your own password and fix the crashes. There is a long list of available options though it will invariably be a flavor of Linux. To make your job easier I would recommend a visit to pendrivelinux.com and here. 

2. Virtual Machine You can turn your pen drive into a virtual PC by installing portable virtualization softwares like Mojopac. It will help you carry your files and softwares with ease.

3. Security on the move There are a host of security related applications that can fit in your pen drive and thus travel with you. Thus your data will always be secured whether or not the host PC has an anti-virus or spam guard. Avast Virus Cleaner, ClamWin, and McAfee Avert Stinger are some of my recommendations.

4. Portable Applications Virtually every software today has a portable counterpart. Right from web development to design to messengers to games, there is nothing that is not available in the portable form. You can stuff some of these in your pen drive and work on the move without actually having to carry your laptop everywhere. One can get a whole list of such applications and details on pendriveapps.com or portableapps.com.

5. Value addition There are certain applications which if installed on the pen drive can help it serve you better. These are thus value addition softwares. Pendrive.com lists a few of themhere while Snapfiles offers these. For data recovery from a pen drive, one can go for applications like Pro data Doctor or Memory stick data Recovery or Restoration.

Steps to “Hide the Partitions”
This trick is for all those people who want to hide tons of data into their box. So here it is, if you have very important data in your hard drive placed in some partition which you do not want anybody to access then this trick is only for you!

Just click on start>run type gpedit.msc, now navigate through user configuration> administrative templates > windows components> windows explorer, now double click on “Hide these specified drives in My Computer” modify it accordingly then just below you will find another option “Prevent access to drives from My Computer”, double click on this option and modify it accordingly.

There are two hacks to beat Rapidshare download limits and waiting time.

1) Rapidshare Hack (For Firefox Users) :-

Released at the end 2004, Greasemonkey is the latest in a growing arsenal of Firefox customization tools.
It changes how Web pages look and act by altering the rendering process.

From the File Menu click on Open File then browse to whereever you saved the 'rapidshare.user.js'.
9) Open it.
10) Click the Tools Menu then click on Install User Script then click OK.
11) Close FireFox.

2) Rapidshare Hack (NIC Tricks and MAC Cloning) :-

Rapidshare traces the users IP address to limit each user to a certain amount of downloading per day.
To get around this, you need to show the rapidshare server a different IP address.
Here are some methods for doing this-

A] Short-Out the JavaScript:
1) Goto the page you want to download
2) Select FREE button
3) In the address bar put this-    javascript:alert(c=0)
4) Click OK
5) Click OK to the pop-up box
6) Enter the captcha
7) Download Your File

B] Request a new IP address from your ISP server:
Here’s how to do it in windows:
1) Click Start
2) Click run
3) In the run box type cmd.exe and click OK
4) When the command prompt opens type the following. ENTER after each new line.
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit5) Erase your cookies in whatever browser you are using. 6) Try the rapidshare download again.
Frequently you will be assigned a new IP address when this happens.
Sometime you will, sometimes you will not. If you are on a fixed IP address, this method will not work.
If this works for you, you may want to save the above commands into a batch file, and just run it when you need it.

C] Use a proxy with SwitchProxy and Firefox:
1) Download and install Firefox
2) Download and install SwitchProxy
3) Google for free proxies
4) When you hit your download limit, clean your cookies and change your proxy

D] You can use a bookmarklet to stop your wait times:
1) Open IE
2) Right Click On This Link
3) Select Add to Favorites
4) Select Yes to the warning that the bookmark may be unsafe.
5) Name it “RapidShare No Wait”
6) Click on the Links folder (if you want to display it in your IE toolbar)
7) Click OK
8) You may need to close and reopen IE to see it
9) Goto rapidshare and click the bookmarklet when you are forced to wait

NOTE:16 digit card no. for MASTER/VISA CARD, 19 DIGIT FOR MAESTRO CARD.

Then again confirm it by reentering the same.

Enter the amount(it may be in point form for some ATMs. e.g Rs. 1005.75 ...do it carefully).
see the confirmation message having card no. and amount.

If all o.k.....proceed .....thus done.

Amount will be transferred to SBI TO SBI debit CARD instantly .But if the  beneficiary's card is from SBI associate bank.... then ur party will get fund in next 24 working hours. Its free of charge but having some daily and per txn. limit.

Same way u can use VMT (visa money transfer) at ATM too. 

Note: Its(VMT) free from atm BUT CHARGEBLE FROM Net BK.

But MASTER CARD MONEY SEND is out of service from more than last 3-4 months. It was working very good few months back.
